UMD Sales Tallied
100,000 Movies on the Go Sold
Sony announced today that their Universal Media Disc for their PlayStation Portable has reached over 100,000 (this number accounts for all the movies that have been sold). However, the sum does not include Spider-Man 2, which had been bundled with early PSPs.
The company also plans to broaden their UMD line-up, with movies targeted at women and children, and not just the 18 to 25 male market. Recently, Anchor Bay Entertainment has pledged six movies for the handheld.
Additionally, Sony made mention that about 25 movies would be available for the PSP's European launch on September 1st.
