Bejeweled HD Smashes Gems, Takes Names
PopCap hopes you'll buy its hit puzzle game all over again.
Surprise, PopCap Games just released a new version of its hit game, Bejeweled, for iPad. The title? Bejeweled HD. Not exactly original, but it works.
Why should you care? We'll start with retina display support for Apple's relatively new iPad, along with four modes (Classic, Butterflies, Diamond Mine and Zen). In addition, there's Game Center support, badges to earn and cool special things, like Star Gems and Hypercubes.
"The iPad has become a de facto standard for tablet gaming and is an ideal platform for the Bejeweled franchise," noted Giordano Bruno Contestabile, Bejeweled franchise business director at PopCap Games. "This native adaptation is one of our best yet, and will enthrall players with fantastic HD graphics and optimized gameplay. As Bejeweled further evolves, we'll continue to bring exciting new iterations, updates and content to millions of new and existing players."
It'll set you back $3.99, which is a bit high, considering Bejeweled Blitz is free, but it's still a small price to pay for hours of gem shattering bliss.
