Samsung Punks Apple With Nine Million Pre-orders For Company's Newest Galaxy Smart Phone
So Apple, how about that iPhone 5? Releasing it soon? July? August?
While not officially confirmed by Samsung, a rumor from an unidentified source points to the company receiving roughly nine million pre-orders for the hardware maker's upcoming smart phone, the Galaxy S3, from over 100 carriers.
The "news" comes hot on the proverbial heels of Samsung winning the unofficial title belt for "biggest smart phone creator of the universe" during the first quarter of the year.
This could spell bad news for Apple, especially with the Galaxy S3 going on sale May 29, with the anticipated iPhone 5 possibly appearing sometime this fall.
Of course, until we hear something from Samsung, you shouldn't read too much into this. Bottom line, if true, we expect the company to make some noise about it.
