The Sandbox Achieves Milestone, Takes Off In France
Pixowl Games and Bulkypix have reason to celebrate. This universe-building app's a hit.
In a way, The Sandbox is like a 2D Minecraft, as players construct their own environments brick by brick, or in this case, pixel. Then they can show off their creations to the growing community. It's a cool game that's become quite popular, to the tune of 504,752 downloads since debuting May 15. That's definitely an impressive stat, despite being free.
What's more, the game's climbed the free charts in multiple countries. It's number one in France, number two in Spain, four in Brazil, eight in New Zealand, 12 in Australia, 12 in Canada, 13 in Argentina, 14 in Germany, 18 in Russia and 27 in the U.S. Not too shabby for a new IP struggling to shine amongst a glut of different titles.
Now all we need is a full-screen iPad version. Come on, Pixowl. Make it happen.
