Pac-Chomp! Takes A Bite Out Of Mobile, Soars Past One Million Downloads
Namco Bandai's ghost-munching mascot still delights audiences the world over.
When it comes to mobile games, Namco Bandai has done a solid job figuring out new ways to market its old arcade cash cow, Pac-Man, with Pac-Chomp! being a prime example. With elements of Bejeweled on full display, players match three or more similarly-colored ghosts while at the same time instructing Pac-Man to devour his enemies. Sure, it's a clone, but one with a unique spin all its own.
That said, the company proudly announced that the game has been downloaded over one million times across iOS and Android, an impressive feat, considering it costs money. Speaking of cash, the game's on sale for $0.99 for iPhone and iPad. Android users, meanwhile, can download the game for free, then unlock the full version via in-app purchase for $0.99. The promotion runs from today until June 5 at 12:00AM PT.
We felt the swipe controls needed tweaking, but aside from that, it was still a fun match-three puzzler. Read our Pac-Chomp! review, then download the game using the links below.
