Street Fighter X Tekken Takes The Fight To iOS
Capcom will release a version of the console brawler later this year.
Capcom had one of the strangest and most antisocial E3 booths in recent memory. Instead of simply walking up and playing its games, the publisher sectioned off the booth and required appointments to go inside, essentially shutting out most attendees.
That by itself was odd. Also strange was the decision to not only leave Street Fighter X Tekken iOS off the company's E3 games list, but also its position within the booth...tucked away behind an arcade cabinet. We don't even have images of it yet.
That said, yes, Street Fighter X Tekken is on its way to iPhone and iPad. When exactly remains a mystery, but we know this: Ryu, Chun-Li, Nina Williams and Kazuya made the cut, the game still features two-versus-two battles, full command lists for each character, EX special moves and Pandora, where you sacrifice your sub character to power up the main character.
The build was rough, but overall, impressive. The developers managed to retain the art style from the console edition, and we had little trouble pulling off various maneuvers. On that note, expect more info as soon as Capcom chooses to discuss this title...whenever that will be.
