Quake Mobile Info Emerges
Can you say 'mobile deathmatch'?
One of the most prolific PC first person shooters is making its way on to mobile handsets. A publishing agreement between Pulse Interactive and id Software will allow the two companies to bring Quake to mobile phones.
id CEO, Todd Hollenshead, spoke about the upcoming production: "Quake [for mobile phones] takes all of the action, game play, and atmosphere of the groundbreaking original and puts it right in the palm of your hands. Quake pushes the envelope of today's mobile handsets, and offers gamers a fun and addictive on-the-go entertainment experience. We're already looking forward to the first mobile deathmatch."
The game is promised to be faithful to the original Quake, which was released in 1996; no mention of possible enhancements or additional levels were mentioned at present time.
Quake is expected to be implemented into the first 3D-enabled phones, and is projected to release some time in July.
