Fruit Ninja Merchandise Chops Through Barriers, Invades New Countries
Halfbrick expands the game's reach by signing potentially lucrative partnership deals.
At this point, the only thing that will stop Fruit Ninja is nuclear annihilation. Halfbrick's immensely successful iOS and Android game achieved more than 300 million downloads and was named one of Time Magazine's "50 Best iPhone Apps of 2011." It's so huge that the publisher branched out to create all sorts of merchandise, including adorable plush toys.
To help bring this stuff to new territories, Halfbrick partnered with several companies to expand Fruit Ninja's reach in Europe and Asia. The studio also inked deals with sub agents EMCI/Empire (Asia) and LDI (Israel) to introduce the game to more prospective players.
"Since Fruit Ninja is already an international phenomenon, we thought it was crucial to expand the brand's reach and engage our fruit-slicing fanatics around the world," said Shainiel Deo, Halfbrick's CEO. "We have handpicked some of the best consumer product companies in the international marketplace and look forward to unveiling our line-up to old and new fans."
