Mutant Storm For iPad Cheats And Tips
Read our guide to surviving the onslaught.
If you're struggling with Crescent Moon Game's Mutant Storm for iPad, we've got a few handy hints to see you on the path to total destructive domination.
The plan of attack
Generally speaking, there's an optimum way to proceed through each level, so don't be afraid to try something new on your next attempt. Sometimes, clearing one half of the screen very quickly will pay dividends in providing you with some much needed breathing space to tackle the remaining enemies.
Unlike most arena-style twin-stick shooters, it's often important to hold your ground and prioritize destroying more powerful enemies as quickly as possible. In other levels, you'll need to maintain constant movement to evade the incoming spawns.
The path to progress
You'll need to master the game on the green belt setting in order to unlock the harder difficulty levels in Adventure mode. Jump straight into the green difficulty and only tone things down if you're struggling. That way you can get to the real high-score difficulties a lot faster.
Any twin-stick veteran will tell you how easy it is to forget about those life-saving bombs in the heat of the moment. Every time you clear ten levels, you'll receive an extra bomb. If you can't progress passed your current block of ten due to one very disagreeable level, remember to utilize this get-out-of-jail-free card when the action is at its most intense.
Mutant Storm's default controls aren't nearly as responsive as those we've seen in other recent twin-stick shooters. In fact, they can feel downright obstinate at first, so play around with the sensitivity and deadzone settings in the options menu to find something that works well for you. It made the world of difference to our gameplay.
Don't forget that in the Tally mode, you don't need to always play at your most accomplished difficulty level. It's a high-score journey that's spread across all 89 levels in the game, so you can always tone the difficulty level down for a particularly challenging section, then come back and try it at a harder setting once you've mastered the game.
