Infinity Blade Dungeons Didn't Begin As An Infinity Blade Game
As you'll soon learn, anything can happen before, during and after a game jam.
When Epic unveiled Infinity Blade Dungeons a few months ago, A.) we jumped around like silly people, and B.) we wondered how the company arrived at the decision to create a dungeon crawler set within the Infinity Blade universe.
Interestingly enough, it didn't, at least initially. Dungeons originally had nothing to do with Infinity Blade, and the publisher eventually decided to combine both it and the million-selling iOS IP instead of having two separate fantasy games.
Epic Games' Director of Production Rod Fergusson:
"The big thing to understand about Infinity Blade: Dungeons is it's not an evolution of Infinity Blade. It's not the next iteration of Infinity Blade. It's a different game."
Interesting stuff. One thing's for sure, we're glad Epic went forward with Dungeons. That said, a release date would be nice.
