DS Sells One-Million in Europe

Nintendo of Europe issued a press release today, proclaiming their satisfaction with sales the Nintendo DS. Nintendo's newest handheld is reported to have sold over one million units on the continent since its release in mid-March.
"The European launch of Nintendo DS has been a massive success with sales shattering all previous records in the opening weekend and remaining consistently strong," said Jim Merrick, Senior Director of European Marketing at Nintendo of Europe. ".This product reflects Nintendo's dedication to innovation and the advancement of gaming, providing novel and exciting new ways to play games. European consumers have adopted Nintendo's sense of fun and innovation to give fantastic support to the Nintendo DS."
The company had issued a statement previously, stating the DS had sold 500,000 units within days of the handheld's initial launch. The DS is available for about 99 pounds, with software ranging from 19 to 29 pounds.
