For years, there was Pokemon, and then that other game. Said game, part of a series really, was Tecmo Koei's Monster Rancher, a franchise that picked up plenty of fans over the years. It's been a while since we've played one of these monster-breeding sims, but that'll change the moment we get our hands on My Monster Rancher, just released for iPhone and iPad.
Available for free, the game follows franchise tradition, as players breed, train and battle a variety of critters. Familiar faces, like Mocchi and the devilish Suezo, make an appearance, and there are a variety of items to buy. That said, here's a short list of features.
-Raise monsters and combine them to create over 200 different breeds!
-Generate monsters from the profiles of the other breeders you meet.
-Train your monsters and enter them in battles and tournaments.
-Send your monsters on adventures to far-away lands.
-Pet other players' monsters and give them gifts.
-Survive fierce battles, win legendary tournaments, and become the greatest breeder.
Not sure how the iOS edition will fare, but the previously released Android My Monster Rancher has over 3,000 five-star reviews; out of five, of course. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to track down an iOS link.
