Tap Tap Revenge: Tour Grooves Its Way To iPhone
Disney Mobile launches the biggest Tap Tap game yet, complete with a huge music catalogue and the all-new Tour mode.
The App Store launched in 2008, with Tap Tap Revenge right alongside it. The Guitar Hero and Rock Band inspired music game delivered well-known artists to the masses, along with casual-friendly play that was far less punishing than those aforementioned console games. A handful of sequels followed, with over 80 million people downloading the series. Now it's time for the newest iteration, Tap Tap Revenge: Tour.
Set to release on iPhone July 12 by Disney Mobile, this is without question the biggest Tap Tap game yet, with a rotating free music store containing more than 300 songs from artists like LMFAO, AVICCI, Goyte, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kaskade and Selena Gomez. This also includes 17 bundles of premium content for in-app purchase.
Of course, that's not all. The new Tour mode sends players to a variety of venues, where they'll need to perform opening, supporting and headliner acts. Depending on how they do, items will become available (guitars, posters) that they'll be able to display on a virtual wall. Some songs, meanwhile, feature video, a first for the series, along with a revamped multidirectional shake mechanic. On top of that, there will be a free feature track of the day, as well as an endless Jam mode. And of course, players can import music from previous Tap Tap video games.
Have to admit, we're in the mood for a quality music game on the App Store, and this free-to-play title just might fit the proverbial bill. We'll have a review this week.
