UNO & Friends To Boost Card Game's Appeal With New Social, Multiplayer Features
Now, when you scream "UNO", everyone will hear it.
Gameloft refuses to stay out of the news. This time, it's a potentially lucrative deal with Mattel that may take UNO to the next level, in the upcoming mobile effort, UNO & Friends. This new version of the timeless card game is on its way to iOS, Android, Facebook, 3DS and Vita, complete with promising social and multiplayer features.
Chief among them? Four-person cross-platform multiplayer, complete with voice and text chat; this seems limited to smartphones, tablets and Facebook.
"UNO is a world-renowned brand, and Gameloft is thrilled to be working with such a respected company as is Mattel on this ambitious project," says Gonzague de Vallois, Senior Vice President of Publishing at Gameloft. "As our goal is to revolutionize the way people play UNO this new game and its new social features will be at the heart of UNO & Friends."
That said, expect to see UNO & Friends for Facebook, iOS and Android later this year. Other platforms, though, won't see the light of day until 2013.
