Apocalypse Max: Better Dead Than Undead Cheats And Tips

Gain the upper hand on those flesh-eating zombies.

OK, so you just downloaded the outstanding Apocalypse Max and want to shoot some zombies, but instead, they keep killing you. Don't worry. Although Max's odds of survival appear slim, this Apocalypse Max cheats and tips guide should help keep this brave warrior alive, while also putting more coins in your virtual bank account.

Buy More Coins, Then Give Those Zombies What For

Accumulate tons of gold coins the easy way by purchasing them from the in-game store. Now you'll be able to unlock all weapons and stock up on ammunition ASAP.

Coins

6,000 Coin Pack: $0.99
18,000 Coin Pack: $1.99
60,000 Coin Pack: $4.99
180,000 Coin Pack: $9.99

Replay Old Missions For More Coins

If spending real cash doesn't sound appealing, you can always go back and replay previously completed missions, which will be significantly easier once you acquire more powerful guns.

Don't Forget To Purchase Ammo

In a perfect world, wooden crates contain ammo of all types. Too bad this post apocalyptic world isn't nearly as generous. Sure, you'll stumble upon plenty of bullets for the pistol, but what about the pulse rifle? Don't leave it up to chance. Just pick up some extra ammo from the in-game store.

Upgrade Weapons

It'll take a heck of a lot of gold coins, but upgrading your favorite weapons is the key to maximum stopping power. But yeah, you'll need a ton of loot. The pulse rifle alone costs $10,000 to buy, then $24,000 just to reach level 2. Yikes.

Always Keep Grenades Handy

These explosive life savers do an excellent job destroying multiple baddies at once, which more often than not will save Max's skin on multiple occasions. That said, be sure to keep a few handy. You'll find them in the wild, or at the virtual store.

Stock Up On Health

Don't get too carried away buying and upgrading machine guns. Max won't get very far with 19 percent health. With this in mind, head to the store and buy some health packs. You know, to give him a fighting chance.

Choose The Right Difficulty

Remember, you can always change the difficulty (Sissy, Tough Guy, Suicidal) any time from the Options menu.

Break All Boxes

Don't leave crates behind. Instead, deliver a powerful melee attack to splinter them into several pieces, then collect the valuable items contained within, be it health, grenades or ammo.

Swipe In The Right Direction

If Max faces left, swipe to the left. If Max faces right, swipe to the right. We know. It sounds pathetically easy, but good luck remembering that with four zombies munching on his brain.

Tips From The Developers

When it comes down to your score, the knife is definitely better than the gun.

To cover the maximum distance during a double jump, time the second jump as late as you can.

Health packs are used automatically when your health is low, but you can also tap on the icon to use them immediately.

Perform a double jump swipe to kill enemies with a single slash.
