Garfield's Defense: Attack Of The Food Invaders Cheats And Tips
If you've read our review of Garfield's Defense: Attack of the Food Invaders earlier today, and need a helping hand getting started with the game yourself, we've put together some basic hints and tips for you.
When should I spend my popcorn?
There's no point spending all that precious popcorn early on in a level, so wait until the action heats up. Wait until you can no longer hold back the waves through ranged shots, melee and "kiting" the enemies back and forth.
The simple answer is to only summon in a buddy when you absolutely need to, and pick the best one for the enemies at hand. That way you keep all of your options open, for as long as possible.
Which weapons should I upgrade?
The glove-in-a-box might not pack too much of a punch in the early days, but it's well worth upgrading it at least a few levels as it can deal some serious damage at higher levels.
Which character should I focus my upgrades on?
The general consensus is that for a "tank"-like character who can take a huge amount of damage, it's well worth spending cookies on upgrading Nermal. She might not look particularly intimidating but her huge health pool can really make the difference in a heavy swarm of enemies.
Lanolin is a great option if you need to concentrate more on raw damage.
How does that popcorn machine work?
The popcorn machine provides the "currency" you use to summon in Garfield's friends, so it's important to maintain a decent level of these resources for when you really need them, typically later on in a level. Later in the game, you'll want to have a lot of popcorn in the bank so you can bring Orson into play as soon as possible.
What does the trumpet do?
If you don't mind a little randomness in your summoning, making use of the trumpet means you'll get an occasional summon or heal out of the blue.
What do each of Garfield's items do?
"This toy catapult sends boxing gloves up in the air to give powerful punches."
"These toy cars will charge at the enemy all at once."
"These toy planes will hover over the enemy, attacking from above."
"Playing the trumpet will either instantly summon allies or heal troops."
"Books falling from shelves help render damage to the enemy."
"Equipped with a vacuum cleaner, Jon will run down all enemies in sight for an instant mob wipeout."
What's the difference between Garfield's friends?
"Sheldon may be the smallest guy on the team, but he's a go-getter and a fighter! With his tough shell as armor, he charges forward with all his might using his head. Literally."
"Looks can be deceiving! This adorable kitten can be ferocious with her yarn ball attack."
"This cowardly duck must have gathered all his courage for this cause. Equipped with a broom, he attacks with all bravery."
"Booker may be just a little chick but he's a mean baseball thrower! He can knock down enemies with a single throw."
"Garfield once said that this dog is not the sharpest tool in the shed. But Odie can help the team by using his big red tongue as a weapon."
"As Garfield's special girl cat, Arlene is the muse of the team. She can heal teammates with a single flying kiss."
"Do not underestimate a farm animal like Orson. He may be on the heavy side, seemingly lazy and pink, but he's one tough warrior with a baseball bat!"
"Who says chickens can't fight? Using his backflip attack, rollerskating Roy attacks with speed."
"He's mean...he's green...he's...Dino Odie! He attacks enemies using his tongue."
