Demons' Score Cheats And Tips

Banish those demons with our beginner's guide.

Feeling rich? Excellent, you should definitely pick up Square Enix's brand new rhythm-fighting title Demons' Score. Pricing issues aside it's a great game, as we noted in our review earlier today. Here are a few tips to get you started.

How do I make the most of sword swipe combos?

Whenever you're presented with a huge sword target, don't worry too much about making broad sword strikes. A tiny little left to right motion will register just as well and allow you to rack up a much higher score.

Use two fingers to make mini-swipes one after another while moving your hand slightly. It's very easy to rack up massive combo points this way.

How do I activate the Demons' Score?

The tutorial explains this very poorly but it's pretty simple once you know how. You don't actually need to draw around the edge of the circle, but rather you need to trace your way through the brightly lit straight lines that lie within the circle.

How do I get a bigger score on combo targets?

Whenever you're presented with a large gunshot target, don't just use one finger! Drum away with a finger on both hands to really rack up the bonus points!

How do I succeed with moving targets?

Every now and then you'll need to deflect a barrage of shots that rain down upon you. When this happens a rail section will appear on the screen. You need to hold your finger down on the starting circle and keep your finger held down on it as it moves along. Only when it reaches the end-point can you take your finger off.

I died without missing a target! What happened?

Annoyingly, some of the demon boss fights meld cut-scenes with actual fighting sequences. Stay alert at all times as you'll occasionally have to deal with unusual assaults like glowing orbs being thrown at you. You need to tap on these as quickly as possible as they'll cause damage if they get too close to you.

How do I get to play on Normal or Hard?

Complete the Easy mode to access Normal, then the Normal mode to access Hard.

How do I unlock new characters?

Beating a demon allows you to form a pact with them which allows you to play in their humanoid form. Be careful! It costs $2.99 to form a pact and unlock the character, so you'll need to dig deep if you want to add some variety to the corridor shooter sections.

How can I restore my health?

On the easier difficulty settings your health will be restored as you successfully hit targets and avoid taking more damage.

If you do need a helping hand, you can always head to the shop for some HP recovery boosts that will last a certain number of stages. These cost real life money though, so check the local prices on your device before purchasing.
