Game Boy Micro Dated
Size does matter, apparently
Nintendo revealed today that it will release their latest handheld system, the Game Boy Micro, across North America on September 17th of this year. A price, or any other specific information to the system's retail, was not specified.
The Game Boy Micro marks the second revision based on the original Game Boy Advance model, with the Game Boy Advance SP being the first new design. Featuring a completely overhauled design, the Micro is 4 inches wide, 2 inches tall, and weighs only 2.8 ounces (or the equivalent of 80 paperclips).
Despite its miniature size, the Game Boy Micro still possesses the same processing speed and power of the GBA SP. Though it will be able to play all GBA games, it will not carry the ability to play any original Game Boy or Game Boy Color titles. Furthermore, the system will also allow for customizable faceplates, brightness adjustment with a two-inch backlit screen, and a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
Except to hear more info on the GBM (specifically a price) in the coming weeks.
