Nintendo DS Price Drop Official
Nintendo set to dominate August
Various rumors of a Nintendo DS price drop have been circulating around the internet for a few weeks now, and today Nintendo themselves have officially announced that the system will indeed receive a reduced price.
Starting August 21st, the suggested retail price for a Nintendo DS handheld will run at $129.99, making it $20 cheaper than its original price ($149.99) which it has carried since its initial release in North America back in November 2004.
But why the price drop now and not sometime this holiday season, you ask? Well it just so happens that one of the system's most anticipated and widely proclaimed titles is releasing the day after the price drop takes effect. That title? Nintendogs. Oh Nintnedo, you diabolical fiends! You won't get away with this! Additionally, Advance Wars: Dual Strike is also slated for release on the same day. Surely a day where wallets receive no mercy.
However, as of the price drop, the system will no longer come bundled with Super Mario 64 DS, so if you want the game and are willing to spend the extra $20, you better get out there and buy it while you still can.
