Borderlands Legends May Bring Thousands Of Weapons To iPhone And iPad

Gearbox Software's not so secret surprise?

There's a great chance you play Borderlands 2 and wish you could take the game with you. Well, you can, sort of. It appears developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2K Games will release a spin-off for iPhone and iPad called Borderlands Legends. And yes, it will contain thousands of weapons.

The news comes by way of a Borderlands 2 digital strategy guide that contains an ad for Borderlands Legends.

From the ad:

Borderlands Legends is the latest addition to the Borderlands franchise, specifically designed for mobile and tablet. Control Mordecai, Lillith, Brick and Roland and take out the oncoming wave of enemies. Collect in-game cash by destroying enemies and purchase new weapons. Earn experience and level up your characters, unlocking new skills and abilities! Each character has their own set of unique skills and abilities, use them wisely to survive!

Along with that description comes word that the game will feature randomized missions, 36 different powers and abilities, a strategic cover system and a Fight For Your Life mode. Interestingly enough, there's no word of co-operative multiplayer, which is one of the franchise's biggest features.

On that note, 2K has yet to officially confirm Borderlands Legends, and we'll keep you posted when that finally occurs.
