Borderlands Legends Made Official, Shoots Its Way To iPhone And iPad October 31
We're always surprised to see console and PC franchises make the jump to mobile. The newest is Borderlands, as Gearbox Software and 2K Games plan to unleash Borderlands Legends on iPhone and iPad this Halloween, October 31. A rumor no more, the game will retail for $4.99 and $6.99, respectively.
Based on a recent 2K blog post and an exclusive first look at Entertainment Weekly, Borderlands Legends ditches the first-person play in exchange for an isometric perspective. In fact, players will control all four characters (Brick, Lilith, Mordecai and Roland, all of whom appeared in the original Borderlands) at once through touch based commands, moving each into position and taking refuge using a strategic cover system.
That said, and despite the camera change, the popular blend of RPG and action mechanics remain intact. Killing an array of different enemies, like Skags, Bandits and Spider Ants will help players unlock thousands of different weapons and make necessary upgrades to survive in Pandora. On top of that, each character has three action skill and six abilities.
With boss battles, objectives to complete and randomized missions, we certainly hope Gearbox is able to bring the enjoyable Borderlands experience to handhelds. Expect more coverage on this promising title next week. In the meantime, check out the first screens here.
