Gizmonauts Cheats And Tips
All the information you need to build the perfect planet.
Yesterday we published our review of Gizmonauts, the new science-fiction empire-building game from Backflip Studios. It's a game that's guaranteed to charm the pants off any fans of the genre, and we've put together some useful hints and tips to help get you off to a great start.
How do I get new robots?
To create a new robot, you're going to have to build a Baby Bot Station where they can be 'incubated' until they're ready for deployment. Once you've built a facility, tap on it and then click the Buy Bot icon. Once your robot is ready for deployment, you'll need to tap on the station, select Deploy, and then choose its new home!
Why can't I buy a new robot?
The Baby Bot Station can only incubate so many robots at one time. If you want to add further bots, you're going to need to either upgrade your station facilities (at a cost of crystals) or build an extra station.
How can I make more money?
If you're playing for the long-term, it definitely pays to invest in Mines and Mining Robots early on as they generate (and will continue to generate) a great flow of cash for your later-game expansion.
How do I get more land in Gizmonauts?
If you're trying to place a new facility on the ground and its shadow is red, that means there's something in the way. You can either clear some of the rubble and shrubbery from the floor, or expand outwards by selecting the Expand option from the marketplace. Note that the number of tiles you're allowed to own at any one time is connected to your current level.
How do I upgrade robots?
To upgrade all of the robots you own, you're going to need to feed them with produce created by the Snax Shacks. Some foods take longer to produce than others, but will provide a greater leveling bonus to the robot. We like to make sure there's at least one Snax Shacks for every two robots on the planet.
Why should you level robots up? Well, the higher level they are, the more money they'll generate so in the long-run there's a huge pay-off for developing them as much as possible.
What should my next expansion be?
If you've run out of expansion space, and don't know what to do next, keep an eye on the Goals section of the interface. This will give you new objectives to work towards and will reward you with some great cash bonuses if you take part.
How do I visit a friend's planet?
To visit a friend's planet, click on the Friends interface button at the bottom of the screen. From here, you can either visit someone through the Facebook tab, or visit a stranger's land.
Once you've been transported, make sure to click on the buildings as you'll be rewarded with cash for doing so. It's a great and very easy way to make some emergency money!
How can I get rid of a facility I don't need any more?
Unlike most empire-building games on the App Store, you can both sell and move awkwardly placed facilities. You won't get the full amount back but it's better than nothing, and you'll free up space for more profitable ventures! Note that you can also move facilities around the screen with the Move command and it won't cost you a cent.
How do I level up so I can buy more land?
Whenever you build more facilities and deploy new robots, you'll receive XP points as a reward. Grab enough of these and you'll level higher and higher, opening up new building and robot options.
How can I tell which robot to place in a facility?
From the market section, you can view the role of each robot by clicking on them individually, but they also have an icon which tells you at a glance where they should be deployed. It's in the top-right hand corner of the portrait, and its worth familiarizing yourself with the different types.
