Halo 4: King Of The Hill Fuled By Mountain Dew, Doritos And More
Not exactly the Halo experience we expected.
Holy product placement, Master Chief. To celebrate the November 6 launch of Halo 4 on Xbox 360, Microsoft tapped developer Ogmento with bringing the game to iPhone and iPad, sort of, as in not really. You see, the recently released Halo 4: King of the Hill Fuled by Mountain Dew app is a location-based promotional game clearly intended to push Mountain Dew, Doritos and 7-Eleven upon the masses.
To be clear, you're free to engage in King of the Hill, but the idea is to locate 7-Eleven stores within the area and then digitally attack these locations, earning double XP, an exclusive custom Locus helmet (U.S. exclusive) or Ghost Prop avatar (Canada exclusive). Interested in buying Halo 4-branded Mountain Dew and Doritos? If the answer is yes, you can scan these products to resupply.
Considering the different console franchises that have jumped to mobile in recent months, this one doesn't appear to provide a compelling experience. That said, it's free.
