Grand Theft Auto: Vice City iOS & Android Cheats And Tips
Get the most out of the mobile edition of this classic game.
Has it really been ten years since we last tore up the streets of Vice City with Tommy Vercetti and friends? The release of the tenth anniversary version of the game for mobiles and tablets last week impressed us a great deal, and the game picked up 4.5 out of 5 stars in our review. Here's everything you need to know about completing this fantastic game.
How do I fly helicopters in Vice City?
There's a bit of a knack to flying both large-scale and RC helicopters using the touchscreen. It's worth stretching your right-hand fingers to handle rotation and height simultaneously, while driving forward with the directional stick. Fiddly, but you'll make much quick progress which is especially helpful in the RC missions.
How can I create a custom playlist in Vice City?
To create your own radio station for the game, you first need to create a playlist called ViceCity, then sync your device. Your music will then play if you switch to the Tape Deck radio station. If you want the songs to shuffle when you enter new vehicles, apply the shuffle feature to the playlist.
How do I complete the taxi missions in Vice City?
First of all, get in a yellow cab and then tap the job icon on the left of the screen (it's very small by default). Your job is to collect passengers, drive them to the destination marked on the mini-map, then grab a new passenger before the various timers expire. Complete 100 concurrent taxi missions and you'll finish up this mission chain.
How do I complete the pizza delivery missions in Vice City?
Yes you're a fearless (and feared) gangster, but there's another way to earn a crust, and get a reward of extra health points too. Grab a pizza delivery bike and hit the job icon to get things started. Reach level 10 and you'll be rewarded with 150 health points.
How do the emergency missions work?
By completing jobs in ambulances, police cars, and fire engines so that you reach level 12 in each, you'll be awarded the following respectively: the ability to sprint forever, 150 armor, the ability to resist any fire damage. You start these jobs in the same way you start taxi and pizza missions.
How can I change the control layout in Vice City?
To change the control layout, head into the options screen, then select Controls. You can adjust the controls here for driving, walking or flying. If you want to increase the size of a particular icon, just double-tap on it. If you want to make it smaller, keep double-tapping so that you cycle gradually through all of the available sizes.
What are the packages used for in Vice City?
Collecting the packages that are littered around Vice City will slowly unlock new weapons and vehicles for you. If you're determined to pick all of them up, it pays to do so in one concerted effort, otherwise you'll spend hours searching for one you've already collected! Here's what you'll be rewarded with as you hit each level. Rewards up to 70 are delivered to the Vercetti Estate, Hyman Condo and the Ocean View Hotel.
10: Body armor
30: Colt Python
50: Sniper gun
70: Rocket Launcher
80: Sea Sparrow (found rear of the Vercetti Estate)
90: Rhino (found at Fort Baxter Air Base)
100: Hunter (Fort Baxter Air Base)
How do I change music stations in Vice City?
Miss this bit of info at the start of the game and it will drive you crazy down the road! If you want to access a new radio station, just swipe left or right on the station name that appears in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
How do I acquire the mansion in Vice City?
To get that awesome mansion in the middle of the map, along with the very handy helicopter on the roof, you need to complete all of the storyline missions of the game. Once that's happened, the assets become available.
How do I lose my wanted level in Vice City?
There are two ways to do this. Either evade the police by tearing up the streets and getting as far away from them as possible, or head to a Pay 'n Spray garage. Park your car inside, wait for the re-paint to finish, then roll out of there like nothing ever happened. Note that this will cost you $100 each time.
