Me And My Katamari Unveiled
Fabulous!
Namco officially announced today the development of a Katamari Damacy title for the PSP. Though we've known of the game's existence for quite a while now, the company's unveiling of the now titled Me And My Katamari has shed a few new details on the upcoming game, along with some new media.
Being the third installment in the series and the first entry on a portable system, Me And My Katamari will once again feature the infinite grace and majesty of His Highness, the King of All Cosmos, now on vacation with his royal family at a tropical island. Righteous and marvelous as He is, the King notices a problem within his newfound paradise and decides to task himself with the responsibility of creating new katamari islands for homeless animals.
But of course, it really is too small a task for His Highness, and so he calls upon his pint-sized son, the Prince, and all of his cousins for help.
"The mesmerizing appeal of the Katamari franchise's game play continues to transcend cultural boundaries and receive critical acclaim," said Yoshi Niki, Business Unit Director, Namco Hometek Inc. "We are excited to expand our offerings to the PSP system, so that our fans can play Katamari whenever and wherever they are."
Some of the new features that fans can expect to see implemented this time around is a wireless multiplayer option, allowing up to four people to play together, and a new island interface that highlights player options and the different stages represented by animals in need of new homes.
Me And My Katamari for the PSP is expected to arrive in North America later next year, and soon after that in Europe where it will be co-published by Electronic Arts.
