Killzone PSP Confirmed
Futuristic shooting action no longer confined to the home
With the recent announcement of Sony Computer Entertainment's acquiring of video game developer Guerilla Games, the subject of possible sequels to the company's most notable game thus far, Killzone, was brought up and development of a new title has been revealed for the PSP.
Though not necessarily a sequel to the PS2 first-person shooter, the portable title is being labeled as a spin-off of sorts, while an official continuation of the now established franchise remains on schedule for the PlayStation 3.
"As we prepare for the launch of PlayStation 3 next year, this acquisition strengthens our development portfolio to take full advantage of the exciting entertainment opportunities provided by PSP, PlayStation 3 and beyond," said Phil Harrison, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios.
Official details on the game, such as a possible release date, have not yet been outlined.
