Project Spark To Use SmartGlass Technology
Sandbox world-building game revealed at E3.
Microsoft has unveiled Project Spark at this year's E3 conference in Los Angeles. A sandbox world-building game with hints of From Dust and Minecraft, players of the new Xbox One game will be able to use Microsoft's SmartGlass technology to sculpt the world around them.
The developers of Project Spark took to the stage to demonstrate how any touchscreen device can be used to draw rivers, carve out landscapes in the world, and create villages. The game will also feature "programming" functions for every object and creature in the game, allowing NPC inhabitants to possess a behaviour determined by the player.
Players will be able to share their worlds with one another, and the game will have a strong community group-play focus as gamers team up to tackle hostile attacks on their settlements. Project Spark will be released for Xbox One and Windows 8.
