LEGO Star Wars II Confirmed
The Original Trilogy gets the LEGO treatment
We had a feeling it was coming, and today LucasArts confirmed our feeling with the official announcement of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Tilogy. Developed once again by Traveller's Tales, the sequel to the humorous little title of 2005 will be available on the Sony PSP, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Game Boy Advance.
Taking place during the original Star Wars Trilogy, the game will take you through all the classic scenes and exciting events of Episodes IV-VI, adding a hint of trademark style LEGO comedy to the mix.
A new addition to the now established series comes with the implementation of mountable vehicles, both mechanical and organic, which players can ride or exit at will. During Free Play mode, gamers can customize more than 50 playable characters by mixing and matching body parts, creating their own unique LEGO Star Wars hero.
LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy is currently set for a tentative fall 2006 release. In addition to the handheld platforms listed above, the game will also be available on the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and Windows.
