iOS And Android Games Of The Week: July 26, 2013
A mobile game with vampires instead of zombies? Unbelievable.
We have two strategy games for you this week. Both iOS and Android fans pop balloons with monkey towers, while Apple users kill vampires with help from strange creatures. The awards go to...
At first glance, Lums appears to be little more than an Angry Birds clone. Thankfully the game includes signature features to help set it apart from the big-time mobile franchise. The goal is to destroy vampires by exposing these creatures to beams of light. You do this by harnessing the power of five unique characters with signature abilities, from the Cannonball Lum that destroys everything in its path to the Antigravity Lum that exposes vampire hideouts. The verdict? Smartly designed and a lot of fun.
Just because Ninja Kiwi's light-hearted tower defense game has a cute cartoon vibe doesn't mean you won't feel the pressure. The multiplayer-focused Bloons TD Battles puts you in charge of monkeys with the goal of surviving as long as possible while going after invading balloons. Gamers can go head-to-head in Assault Mode by sending balloons directly to their opponents, or partake in Defensive Mode to see who can outlast the other as balloons flood the screen. With 19 monkey towers, 10 Battle tracks and multiple achievements, this strategy title will stick around for quite some time.
