Disney Infinity Receives Two Mobile Apps, Action! Launches Tomorrow
Take the experience beyond the console game.
Disney Interactive is all systems go this week, as its latest project, Disney Infinity, launches this Sunday for consoles, bringing with it dozens of interactive figurines and a huge Toy Box mode where players can create their own game experiences. However, the company wants to extend things further, and will do so with the introduction of two mobile apps.
The first, which arrives tomorrow for iOS and later for Android, is Disney Infinity: Action!; it turns players into interactive storytellers. Using a Movie Maker feature, you'll be able to interact with characters through video. Players can create their films using backdrops from Tron and Toy Story, as well as characters like Sully from Monsters Inc. and Captain Jack Sparrow, then post them to Facebook or YouTube for all the world to see.
Then there's Disney Infinity: Toy Box, which allows players to build and edit their worlds in the game's Toy Box mode right from their iPads. With it, you'll transfer your Toy Box worlds from tablet to console and back, while accessing over 60 free items to help expand your world, including terrain, track pieces and decorations. The app will also come with a free playable character - Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles - with the option to add more with purchased figures. The Toy Box app will release for iPad sometime over the next few weeks.
Both apps will be available free of charge. As for Disney Infinity, it releases in stores August 18th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
