John Woo Returns To Gaming With Bloodstroke
For a while, director John Woo was on a roll with his movies, making stylish, over-the-top action fare like Hard-Boiled, The Killer and Face/Off. Then he tried his hand at video games, working alongside Midway on the thrilling Stranglehold. However, we haven't seen him since - though he's finally making a comeback this fall with Bloodstroke.
In the game, you play special Phalanx agent Mai Lee, code named the Lotus, as she works her way through the blood-filled streets of Hong Kong and Beijing, stopping anyone who might endanger her client.
The top-down shooter features a number of great weapons to choose from, with six different guns and four katana swords to slice up enemies; you can earn extra cash in the game's Arena Mode, cutting down waves of thugs.
Bloodstroke will also feature comic book panels penned by Woo himself, sandwiched in-between the action stages.
The game will release for iOS devices later this year through Chillingo.
