Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Hobbit love has come to your cell phone! No, not that kind...
Ugh. After playing Lord of the Rings Pinball for a couple of hours and finding it about as likable as Gollum during a tennis tournament ("NO! NO! We's saw the ball was in!"), I was really regretting returning to a Lord of the Rings game for the cell phone circuit. Fortunately, JAMDAT has made their latest effort, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, into a kick ass action game that follows the basics, but still delivers with lots of sword-swinging action. The legend has returned!
In the game, you take control of Aragorn as he makes his way through a number of scenarios taken from the movies, such as a battle with a Ringwraith or the battle at Helm's Deep. He must slice up some Orcs and other enemies while also maintaining the smarts to defeat some puzzles and get by some enemies in stealth mode. It's not an entirely deep game, but it still comes through with a great deal of action and solid controls.
The game is a lot longer than expected, too. The levels are deep and there's lots of enemies to challenge you as you work your way towards the destruction of the one ring. The graphics and music live up to the production as well. It would've been nice to be able to control other characters from the movie, but I digress. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy puts the franchise back on track for greatness for your cell phone, and you shouldn't be without it. Download it and call it your precious.
What's Hot: Action-packed, and fun to play.
What's Not: Needed more playable characters.
