iOS And Android Games Of The Week: September 13, 2013
Plenty of monsters to go around.
This week's iOS and Android games are all about monsters, as in killing tons of them. One title sends you into space aboard a zombie-inhabited ship, while the other is a good old-fashioned dungeon crawler. Can't go wrong with either.
Dead Effect [Download: iOS]
We had doubts about this zombie first-person shooter from Bulkypix, and those fears were put to rest after completing a few missions. While not the most original effort, Dead Effect delivers a healthy dose of action that lets you paint the walls with zombie blood. The mix of sci-fi and horror works quite well, and the over-the-top voice acting breaks the tension. If you can't get enough zombie games, meet your new addiction.
OrangePixel loves releasing retro-style games and that's perfectly fine by us, especially if the result is Heroes of Loot. This Gauntlet homage sends you through an infinite number of randomly generated dungeons in the hope of smashing deadly critters and stuffing your pockets with gold. Simple controls, 8-bit style graphics and quality music make this game a winner.
