This penguin's cool as ice.
When I was a kid, I used to hang out at this big monstrosity called Celebrity Sports Center. And it was really the place to be, especially over summer. I remember going into one of the three arcades it had to offer and playing games for hours, blowing my weekly allowance in a matter of plays. Among these games was the Sega classic Pengo, truly a blast in itself. Now it's on the cell phone, and I almost feel like a kid again.
The game has you taking control of a penguin as he moves around a field of ice blocks, avoiding dangerous enemies and trying to smush them together with the help of the blocks. See, the Pengo can push blocks into each other, but has to be careful as these things that he's trying to finish off can melt them easily. The game has various difficulty levels, so you can either try to cakewalk your way through it or step up and become king of the Pengos.
I wish the game had some sort of versus capability, not to mention some new levels, but, hey, I'll take arcade bliss where I can find it, and Pengo surprisingly falls into this category. The game's just a good ol' classic time, and it's great to see that Sega hasn't forgotten about it. Yay!
What's Hot: Pretty much emulates the fun classic arcade game.
What's Not: Doesn't really have much depth; no two player penguin battles.
