Sid Meier's Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies Dominating iOS This Fall
2K and Firaxis Games, a team that saw great success with its previously released Sid Meier's Ace Patrol on mobile devices, just announced an expansion that will take to the skies this fall.
Called Pacific Skies, the game will transport fans of the series to the Pacific theater in World War 2, where they'll personalize and advance their pilot profiles and aircrafts while taking part in a number of missions. As they proceed, players can unlock special skill sets, along with new upgrades and maneuvers for their planes. They'll visit classic scenarios from the era, including Midway, Guadalcanal and of course, Pearl Harbor.
The game, featuring creative touches from Meier himself, will launch later this fall for iOS devices through the App Store, though it'll only work with higher-end gadgets like the iPad 2, iPhone 4S and higher. There's no word on pricing yet.
Users interested in the franchise can "take part in the conversation" through Twitter by using the hashtags #SidWantsYou and #OneMoreTurn. Who knows? You may find some fellow pilots to take flight with.
