iOS And Android Games Of The Week - October 25, 2013
This week sees an unexpected win for free-to-play gaming.
From puzzle games to StarFox-flavored shooters, there's been plenty to suit all comers in this week's crop of reviewed games, but which ones impressed us the most? Here's our pick of the very best that mobile gaming had to offer over the last seven days.
In just about any other week, Paint It Back would have taken top spot for its superb picross puzzling, but this isn't just any old week. Thursday saw the release of the long-awaited sequel to the magnificent Dead Trigger, and it's a game that could have easily bagged both the iOS and Android crowns this week. By improving on the original shooter in just about every way, Madfinger Games has pulled off a tidy triumph.
This Redux edition of the classic ARC Squadron makes for a very welcome free to play title on both platforms. The repackaged version of the airborne shooter packs in a generous 60 mission campaign, bags of special challenges, and more weapon upgrades than you'll know what to do with. Not only that, it's a free-to-play that's so generous when it comes to giving away its content, you'll be very happy to throw a few dollars the developers' way.
