Tetris DS & MP: Hunters Ad Blitz Begins
Nintendo's TV spots for both Metroid Prime: Hunters and Tetris DS have been revealed, and they are very unlike the big N (in a good way)...
Nintendo's TV spots for both WiFi-enabled DS games Metroid Prime: Hunters and Tetris DS were recently revealed, as part of a larger media blitz for the titles.
The MP: Hunters spot, directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld), opens against a futuristic urban backdrop, and pans to a gravedigger digging graves in front of equally-futuristic LCD screens, acting as tombstones. One screen informs him that another bounty hunter has been killed, at which point a body falls from the sky into the freshly-dug grave. The spot ends with the voiceover "More bounty hunters. More ways to die," after quickly running down the game's new online deathmatch features.
The Tetris DS ad opens with what looks like hundreds of skydivers jumping in tandem. They link up in twos to form squares, which then join-up to form the all-too-familiar Tetris pieces. Once one of these massive (literally) man-made pieces slides into place forming a full row, the row of skydivers breaks away, in true Tetris fashion. The ad ends with the tagline "Do you Tetris with others?"
Both ads began airing this week.
