So good, you'll probably flip. But don't. You'll hit your head.
Doing something by memory is not as easy as it looks. Sure, you could probably whip through the first two rounds of a game like Simon quicker than a chimp would go through a bushel of bananas. But try having to remember 20 or 30 count patterns without eventually losing your mind or wondering if you should have hit yellow instead of green, again and again and again. Hell, I have enough of a hard time remembering to bring my cell phone with me when I leave the house.
Now G3 Studios has a new game for your cell phone that'll tax your brain quicker than an accountant on a Jolt! sugar rush. It's called Flip It!, and it's a simple yet commanding puzzle game where you must flip over tiles into a specific pattern over a matter of small time. And you must flip them in the correct order- the slightest misstep will force the stage to either start over or eventually end the game.
The game looks good, and it's so easy to get into and manages to hang upon your every need. The music is definitely New Age, but fits the game surprisingly well, like a soothing beat that tries to calm your brain as it goes into overload in the game's later levels. I wish there was some kind of two player versus challenge mode with specific patterns, but as is, what we have here is still a wonderful surprise, with over 50 patterns to test yourself with.
Flip It! is most definitely a flippin' good time. It addicts like you wouldn't believe and its presentation delivers on nearly every count. So when a problem comes along, you must flip it. Flip it good.
What's Hot: Simple, addictive, and fun.
What's Not: No multiplayer? Shame!
