Dafox Cheats And Tips
Our cunning guide to the running game.
Although we questioned the game's quality in our review earlier today, Dafox may still appeal to those looking to add another platforming game to their mobile line-up. It's initially free as well, so you risk nothing by giving it a shot - aside from your sanity, perhaps.
Regardless of how you get on with the game, here are some tips to help get you off to a good start.
How do I earn coins in Dafox?
Coins are scattered throughout each stage, usually in strings. You'll sometimes have to jump to collect them all, but it's easy enough that it shouldn't be a problem. There is no way to buy coins directly in the game, so you'll just have to keep collecting until you have as many as you need.
How does the 2nd Luck power-up work in Dafox?
This basically adds a heart to your life bar, should you lose one falling off a ledge, or from hitting an enemy without attacking it. By upgrading this power-up - or paying $0.99 directly through the in-app menu - you can increase your chances of getting a heart on a stage. Honestly though, you can do without leveling up, as they appear often enough that you shouldn't run out of health.
How do the controls work in Dafox?
You've got a jump button on the left, and a sliding kick button on the right. You can hold down the jump button to get higher-up, something you'll need to do to clear taller trees. In addition, you can combine jump and attack together to perform a diving kick, which is helpful if you've got an enemy waiting for you on the other side of an obstacle.
How does the Shield power-up work in Dafox?
The shield provides you with an extra hit, so you can run through an enemy or an obstacle without taking a dent to your health. Like the 2nd Luck power-up, you can increase your chances of getting this by either paying $.99, or using in-game coins to make the purchase. It appears less often than hearts, so this may be worth investing in.
How does the Slow power-up work in Dafox?
The Slow power-up makes the pace of the game much gentler, so you have more time to collect coins and prepare for enemies. It only lasts for a few seconds, but it'll give you the time needed to make your next move. By upgrading it in the menu with in-game coins or a $0.99 purchase, you can increase how long it lasts. Really though, you have all the time you need once it's activated.
How do the Squirrel and Fish power-ups work in Dafox?
These guys provide very temporary assistance in keeping Dafox's run going, with the Squirrel acting as a guide on land and the Fish allowing you to avoid falls in the water. They only last a couple of seconds at first, but, if you wish, you can prolong their stay by upgrading them with in-game coins or a $0.99 purchase apiece.
How does the upgrade bonus work in Dafox?
This enables you to add a spot to your upgrade bar without having to spend in-game coins. Considering how many coins you get your hands on in each stage, however, you probably won't need to invest in this.
How do you get across gaps in Dafox?
These will come often and quickly, so the best thing we can suggest is to keep your finger on the jump button and hit it immediately after you land, so that you can jump again. It doesn't always respond as smoothly as we'd like it to - cumbersome controls are just one of the game's problems - but stick with this tactic and it should get you through those trickier sections.
