Fire Escape Cheats And Tips
Fire Escape is an entertaining, not to mention slightly demanding, free-climbing game where you swing across pegs while avoiding a growing blaze beneath you. Along the way, you can use a number of power-ups to keep your run going - here are some tips that should also help you get through the game.
How do I unlock equipment in Fire Escape?
Equipment is divided into tiers, and you'll need to purchase a minimum number of them within each tier in order to unlock the next. For instance, in Tier 1, you have the Bubble Field MKI, the Fire Axe and the Power Gloves MKI, and you must purchase two of these to reach Tier 2.
How do balloons work in Fire Escape?
Balloons allow you to continue your run in case you miss a peg and fall into the fire below. Consider them life-savers that stop you having to start all over again. You can find them in higher levels of the game, or buy them outright in the shop.
How does the Bubble Field work in Fire Escape?
This surrounds your heroic fireman in a bubble and bounces him further up the playfield without taking damage for a limited time. It's one of the first power-ups you'll be able to unlock in the game, and it's certainly worth getting your hands on.
How does the Fire Axe work in Fire Escape?
The fire axe allows you to break through fiery wood planks that would otherwise block your path when it comes to reaching a certain set of coins. You can only use it a specific number of times, but it really does come in handy.
How do the Power Gloves work in Fire Escape?
By leveling these up, you can achieve better distance and height when swinging up towards pegs. You'll definitely want to take advantage of this useful equipment in the latter stages of the game. Fireproof gloves are also available, in case you need to grab onto fiery pegs that would otherwise end your run.
How does the Debris Helmet work in Fire Escape?
You use this to protect your fireman from any damage taken by running into something above him. If you head further up into the levels, it'll prove especially useful if you want to clock up a nice run.
What upgrades are available in Fire Escape?
There are four in all.
First, there's the Peg Magnet, which will draw your player in close even if he's outside of grabbing range. Power these up further if you want to grab onto pegs while they're temporarily activated as magnets.
The second is the Fireproof Suit. Once you find this temporary power-up in the game, it'll keep you from getting harmed by fire for a few seconds. The more you increase its strength, the longer it'll last.
Next up is the Fire Extinguisher. By grabbing this, you'll be able to shoot up further into a stage, without worrying about holding onto pegs. It'll only last for a couple of seconds unless you upgrade it, and then it'll last a little longer.
Finally, the Golden Extinguisher is a more powerful version of the Fire Extinguisher, and makes it a bit easier to collect coins scattered on a stage. This is the most expensive item to upgrade in the game, but it's worth it.
What utilities are available in Fire Escape?
There are three in all.
The first is the Speed Boost. This enables you to jump further than you normally would during your most current run. It also makes it a little trickier to grab onto pegs, so be prepared!
Next up is the Coin Magnet. It draws in any coins that are close to your fireman during your run. It's useful if you want to pick up a number of coins right away.
Finally, the Coin Doubler does exactly what it says - takes what coins you collect and multiplies them by two for the duration of your run.
Do I need to pay for anything in Fire Escape?
There is a coin currency system where you can add to your total by picking up various coins and bonus goodies in the game. It's a small count, however, and some of the premium items require anywhere from 1,000 to 20,000 coins to acquire.
It's completely optional, though, and if you don't mind starting the game over again to collect more coins, you won't need to put down a dime to enjoy it.
