OMG:TD! Cheats And Tips
Although the odds can seem rather overwhelming at times - especially if you don't plunk down real cash on higher-up items - OMG:TD! is a very worthy addition to the tower defense genre, and it's a great game to kill a few hours with at home or on the move.
After playing the game this week, we've got some helpful tips to help get you started in the game.
How do I earn more stars in OMG: TD?
You can earn up to three stars in each stage, and there are 88 to grab in total. How many stars you earn depends how well you do in terms of stopping enemies and keeping your main Hero at full strength. If any enemies slip through, you're likely to earn only one to two stars per stage. Provided you have enough charges left in your meter though, you can retry the stage again once you have more characters and resources available - thus guaranteeing that third star.
How do I unlock Challenge Modes in OMG:TD?
Once you beat a stage, you can unlock a Challenge Mode version that gives you the option to earn an additional star. Note that these stages are seriously hard, so don't tackle them until you have more than enough money for Heroes, Gods and other resources.
How do upgrades work in OMG: TD?
Upgrades can be used in one of two ways. You can use Souls that are collected over the course of each stage to increase your character's capabilities, whether they're your typical Gods or special heroes. In addition, if you have enough money (around 300 coins), you can also give an individual fighter a boost, increasing his or her durability, strength and/or distance with attacks. This can be costly though, so stick with generally upgrading the class in itself, rather than individual fighters.
What Heroes are available in OMG: TD?
There are four in all at the moment, with more to be offered via downloadable content during the next few months. You'll automatically receive Hercules as your first Hero, and he's pretty capable of stopping enemies with his strength. You can upgrade him as well, increasing his size for a limited amount of time.
The other three that are available for purchase are the Minotaur warrior Clyde S. Dale ($4.99), the flying serpent Mr. Talonted ($1.99) and the powerful siren Nina Seamone ($3.99). They each bring additional strength to the battlefield, along with speed advantages. There's no way of unlocking them using Souls, however- you'll have to purchase them with real cash.
What abilities does Zeus possess in OMG: TD?
Zeus can shoot lightning bolts that do damage to more than one enemy at a time, fired in rapid shots. Increasing his ability will make both his stun Taser attacks and Superbolts more harmful in the long run.
What abilities does Ares possess in OMG: TD?
Ares is a brute fighter, and can strike enemies with a good amount of damage. He's rather slow and steady in his attacks though, and needs to recharge. You can upgrade his Party Crasher and Critical Hit techniques to push up his strength.
What abilities does Artemis possess in OMG: TD?
Artemis can shoot arrows at enemies, making her deadly from a distance. Both her Sniper Shot (for accuracy) and Rapid Fire can be increased up to three times, provided you have the right amount of Souls to do so.
What abilities does Chione possess in OMG: TD?
Chione uses freezing capabilities to stop enemies and call upon ice spikes to rise up out of the ground. You can increase these powers up to three times for maximum effect.
What abilities does Apollo possess in OMG: TD?
Apollo fires huge light bursts that can hit a group of enemies in one shot. He can increase both his Speed Demon movement and speed of attacks, as well as a powerful Sunburst attack, up to three times.
What abilities does Poseidon possess in OMG: TD?
Poseidon, as you might guess, calls upon sea life to attack enemies from nearby geysers. Between the random characters in the Sushi Buffet and the devastating Shark Attack, he can certainly deliver a lot of damage.
What abilities does Hephaestus possess in OMG: TD?
Hephaestus is not only a strong powerhouse that can drop down on enemies, but he can also deliver a Weak Sauce attack that makes them more susceptible to fellow soldiers.
What abilities does Hades possess in OMG: TD?
Hades deals out the death with ghosts that can damage enemies in a big way, whether by scaring the living daylights out of them with Fear, or exploding and causing massive damage. You can level up either of these abilities up to three times.
What abilities does Hestia possess in OMG: TD?
Hestia will leave enemies burning up with fire attacks. The Rug Burn stays on the ground for a short period of time, torching anyone that walks into it. Meanwhile, the Double Burn does lasting damage to enemies with one quick shot. You can power these up however you wish, up to three times apiece.
How do the power-ups work in OMG: TD?
There are four in all.
The first is the Beefcake, which increases the strength of your hero for a limited amount of time. This is useful if you're fending off a large group of enemies, or tank-like ones that take more damage.
Next up is the Fists of God, which slams an enormous hand into the ground based on where you target it. It's a one-time attack, but perfect for large groups.
The third is the Rewind. This pushes the enemies back long enough for you to reorganize your plan of attack, and finish them off the second time around.
Finally, the Supercharger takes your planted lightning station and juices it up again, so that you can draw a line to enemies and zap them in one collective stroke. You'll run out of these charges after three turns, though, so make the most out of them!
Do I need to pay for anything in OMG: TD?
If you want to continue playing, more than likely. You have up to five charges that you can redeem to get turns at playing the game, but if you run out, you'll either need to wait for it to refill or pay a couple of bucks for more turns.
How do I get more Souls in OMG: TD?
To get free Souls in OMG: TD, you can always watch some promotional videos. The impatient can buy additional Souls from the in-app purchase store.
Should I buy power-ups in OMG: TD?
You can also buy additional power-ups, but the game provides so many opportunities to use them for free that you should hold back from spending cash. Honestly, though, the game provides so many opportunities to use them for free, that you really shouldn't need to spend money. Only do so if you've really hit a brick wall in the game.
