Top Ten Best iPhone & iPad Racing Games - January, 2014
Now that we're well on our way into 2014, it's time to take a look through our pick of the very best racing games you can get for your iPhone or iPad. Whether you prefer an arcade, simulation, or physics flavor to your racing, we've got you covered with our comprehensive guide.
10. Racing Rivals
Racing Rivals is slowly being squeezed out of our top ten racing game round-ups, but its just about clinging on for now. Fans of CSR Racing won't want to miss out on this racing title that owes more than a little of its inspiration to that earlier game.
9. GT Racing 2
The AI behavior could perhaps do with a little fine-tuning, but there's no doubt that GT Racing 2 is one of the best racing sims you can grab from the app stores. There are dozens of gorgeous cars to unlock here, and the handling of each one is outstanding.
8. Need For Speed: Most Wanted
There are a handful of Need For Speed games available on the App Store, but we keep returning to Most Wanted. The closest you can get to a console Need For Speed on the go, this rather pricey app is nevertheless worth every penny.

7. Hill Climb Racing
Hill Climb Racing is starting to look somewhat primitive when compared to the likes of Blocky Roads, but this is still one of the finest 2D physics-racers you can get for your mobile or tablet.
6. Fast & Furious 6: The Game
As a mobile movie tie-in, we didn't have high hopes for Fast & Furious 6 at the start of our review, but it turns out that this CSR Racing-esque game offers more than you might expect. Ignore the cheesy storyline, and instead get stuck into the tense, gear-switching gameplay that never gets old.
5. 2K Drive
Even though the comparatively steep $6.99 asking price doesn't include every last vehicle available in 2K Drive, we still feel this title offers plenty of value for money. There are loads of offline and online events to get stuck into, all set against some extraordinarily pretty environments.

4. Angry Birds Go!
Angry Birds took a surprising new direction in the form of this mobile kart racer, but thankfully it's one of the best of its kind. Ignore the extortionately priced vehicles in the in-app purchase store, and simply get stuck into the free offering.
3. Blocky Roads
Blocky Roads is one of our favorite physics racers, thanks largely to its pristine physics engine, not to mention its gorgeous, Minecraft-themed visuals which really shine on Retina devices. This simple gameplay will keep you occupied for a surprising amount of time, and there are tonnes of great tracks to get stuck into.
2. Real Racing 2
Real Racing 3's harsh freemium business model stole plenty of negative headlines last year, so why not lay down a few dollars and treat yourself to the real thing? The second game in this gorgeous-looking series remains our favorite of the lot, and is an essential purchase for any mobile racing fan.
1. Asphalt 8: Airborne
Asphalt 8 has yet to be dethroned from its pole position in our racing game round-ups and with good reason. No other mobile racing game offers this many thrills and tracks on touchscreens - let's see if a true challenger appears in 2014.
