Fury of the Hulk
This game makes me angry, and you won't like me when I'm angry.
So you want to talk about a frustrating level of game design? For some odd reason I found myself discovering an old licensed game based on the Universal Hulk movie from a couple of years back, and I really disliked it. I mean, really, REALLY disliked it. Why? Because it negates the idea of the license. Think of when Acclaim did the South Park license injustice by delivering a crappy FPS. And a lame trivia game. Now multiply that by a hundred and you have Fury of the Hulk.
More like Fury of the Unhappy Player. This game stinks like Hulk's boxer shorts after a week in Arizona. The concept basically has you strategically knocking out tanks that surround the Hulk in a number of different levels. Yeah, a strategy game with the Hulk. Makes sense, right? Because players aren't interested in smashing anything. The problem is, the game isn't really that fun, and grates on the nerves quicker than an album by Anna Nicole Smith.
The graphics are miserable and the sound barely even registers, not even giving us a familiar theme song from the above average movie. This is an idea of a movie tie-in? I can understand it being a couple of years old, but COME ON. This game is supposed to let you smash things in-game, not bash your phone to pieces out of pure frustration. Leave Fury of the Hulk to the less fortunate and go after another superhero game instead.
What's Hot: Well, the Hulk's in it.
What's Not: Uninspired gameplay; very bland design.
