Basketball Kings Cheats And Tips
Three-point shooting contests are quite common throughout college and NBA, and now there's a new game that celebrates this legacy. In Basketball Kings, you'll participate in a number of modes, shooting three pointers like a pro as you build up your high score and earn points to unlock new goodies, including courts, uniforms and basketballs.
Here are some tips that will have you shooting lights out in no time.
How do I play Basketball Kings?
The main thing you need to concentrate on is shooting. However, there are two things you'll have to keep in mind.
First, there's a power meter on the left hand side of the screen. If you can draw your shot up to a certain line, you should be able to sink it with no problem. There's also a color system on the meter that shows if a shot will be successful or not. If it's green, you're good to go. If not, you need to work on your technique.
Accuracy is the second item. You'll usually draw your finger in a straight upward line to guide the ball to the basket, but on occasion, you'll need to add a small curve to it, especially if you're standing at an angle. This will allow the ball to bounce off the backboard and successfully go into the basket.
How do I get a "hot streak" in Basketball Kings?
You need to make at least five successful shots in a row for the rim to catch on fire. (Literally, it catches on fire.) Once it does, your score will begin to multiply will each successful shot, so keep at it! You'll build a high score and plenty of points to unlock items for your character. The streak ends whenever you miss a shot, so be careful.
What modes are available in Basketball Kings?
There are seven, but five are unlocked from the get-go. Tournament has you competing in rounds with pre-set scores, such as 30 or 50 on up, in order to advance to the next round. Arcade is a free-for-all shooting fest, where you can keep building your score until you run out of turns. Time Attack is a contest where you try to make as many shots as you can in the allotted time period. Single Ball gives you just one mistake to make during your run, but allows you to keep going with each successful shot.
Online lets you accept challenges from other players. The first Promotional round is free, but other rounds against fellow players force you to gamble some of your MP points to play. If you win, you'll double them, but if you lose, you'll need to build them back up again in the other modes. It's fun to play, especially when it comes to close shooting contests.
Finally, there are two additional modes - All-Stars and Block. All-Stars pits you against AI players with better skills, while Block has you playing defense against incoming shooters. You'll need to pay to unlock these, as All-Stars costs $0.99 and Block costs $1.99. How much you enjoy the other modes will help you decide if you want the others.
How do I earn additional MP in Basketball Kings?
As you progress through modes, you'll earn Achievements by completing certain goals, like moving on to a certain round in Tournament or earning a high score. These will display in your Achievements locker, and will net you additional MP to spend on items in the game. The rewards are around 100 points and higher, so it's worth seeing what you can unlock.
Do I need to pay for anything in Basketball Kings?
Aside from the two additional modes, Basketball Kings gives you the option to buy goods for your player, including new uniforms, arenas to shoot hoops in and custom basketballs. That said, you can buy most of these using MP points, and only if you really don't want to wait to get into multiplayer should you bother dropping some dough.
Purchases vary, with most of the higher level customization goods going for anywhere from $3.99 to $8.99, while you can also directly buy MP for anywhere from $0.99 (for 5,000) to $64.99 (for 500,000). You might also want to look into the free MP offers from rating the game and Facebook - they'll save you some precious cash.
