Hitman GO Cheats And Tips
Take out your targets in this killer game.
Square Enix's latest mobile game, Hitman GO, is an ingenious effort. It takes the murderous tactics of the popular Hitman series and simplifies them into a puzzle-based board game format, where you'll need to elude guards, collect briefcases and take out targets while occasionally meeting secondary goals to move on to the next level.
Here are some tips that will help you become an elite assassin.
How do I play Hitman GO?
It's set up similar to Hitman, where you have the option to either sneak past or take out guards as you work to an objective point, whether it's the end of the stage or a target that you need to take out. However, you'll need to time your moves properly, as some guards move at the same time you do. If you're in their targeting range, you're as good as caught.
Take the time to learn each level. Watch for guard movements or positions and plan accordingly. As you do this, you'll be able to get the jump on or sneak past them, if you prefer - and reach your objective point.
Along the way, you'll see a briefcase that needs to be picked up. These are optional, but do provide an extra stamp at the completion of the stage, allowing you to unlock more content later on. Plan your moves carefully and then work your way up to the briefcase. Remember, don't let a guard corner you.
How do I take out guards in Hitman GO?
Guards look in specific directions, as indicated by an arrow at the bottom of their figurines. If you're within a space of them facing in your direction, you're as good as caught.
However, you can take out guards from the rear or the sides. Look for alternate paths to quietly dispose of guards without alerting others. If you're good enough, you'll be able to take out two or more in one shot, or in a continuous string of hits as you make your way towards the exit.
In later stages, guards will move around. Don't worry so much about jumping these guys, instead focusing on avoiding them to reach your goal. They're nearly impossible to catch up with, and you might end up jumping in front of them by mistake.
How do I use secondary objects in Hitman GO?
On occasion, you'll be able to use secondary items, including stones and guns. Stones are basically distraction tools that you can throw and alert guards within noise range (as indicated by a large square). Guns are good for one-time use, but could attract unwanted attention.
Take note of where guards are located on each stage and see if you can get two to come over to a certain point, so you can take them both out at the same time. If you screw up, remember that you can always retry a stage and learn from your mistakes.
How do secondary challenges work in Hitman GO?
Secondary challenges earn you additional stamps on a stage. These usually consist of finishing the stage in a certain number of moves, not taking out any guards and collecting briefcases.
These can be challenging, but you have a certain number of hints that will walk you through how to complete these challenges, move for move. If you're stuck or just can't get to the briefcase, feel free to activate this and you'll go through step-by-step. If you screw up, it'll remain unlocked so you can try again.
Once you run out of hints, you can buy more - we'll cover more of that below.
The more stamps you earn, the more stages and challenges become unlocked.
Do I need to pay for anything in Hitman GO?
The game costs $4.99, a reasonable value considering its novelty and difficulty. From there, you can make a number of purchases, including unlocking new chapters ($0.99 each), buying additional hints (ranging from $1.99 for five to $6.99 for 25) or unlocking all the hints for each stage for $14.99.
When it comes to purchases, stick with hints. They're easy and helpful to getting through the game, and will eventually lead you to unlocking more levels down the road. Don't buy the Complete Walkthrough unless you feel like spoiling the game for yourself.
