Running of the Bulls
Hey, beats having a bull horn rammed into your ass.
I know most of you may never get the chance to go down to Spain and participate in the yearly Running of the Bulls event, where people outrun raging bulls down a narrow street to avoid getting gored. Just for the thrill of it, I suppose. I probably won't do it anytime soon in my life, so I'll just do the next best thing and do it on my cell phone with AGmobile's Running of the Bulls.
The game is an overhead chasing affair where you must outrun Fernando and his group of bulls down the street, avoiding holes and other objects and avoiding hits from the bulls. You can take a few hits during your runs, but take too many and you'll go down like a stack of bricks. The gameplay is simple, made up of avoidance issues, but it works pretty well.
As for the presentation, it's not that great. The graphics are basic at best, with minimal animation. The sound barely registers whatsoever. But at least the game manages to get the feeling of outrunning bulls somewhat right, even throwing in some collection items like rings and invincibility icons.
Running of the Bulls is not a handheld classic, but it is a decent little distraction that will get your blood flowing, if only for a little while. And, hey, you can't afford a trip to Spain right now, can you?
What's Hot: Great gameplay concept; surprisingly fun.
What's Not: Needed more oomph in presentation.
