Dwarven Den Cheats And Tips
We can dig it, and so will you.
Backflip Studios' Dwarven Den is quite an addictive game. You play as a series of dwarves, digging their way through tunnels and mining materials and gold, while avoiding enemies and collecting plenty of loot, from hats to new equipment.
Think it's too big an adventure for you to handle? These tips will help get you started on the right foot.
How do I play Dwarven Den?
Getting around is easy. If you want to dig through a block, just tap it. Now, some blocks are tougher than others, so you'll either want to make sure you upgrade your equipment, or once unlocked, use a bomb to clear the way.
As you dig, you'll come across crystals that will replenish either your health or tech (which you need to use bombs and other high-tech tools). Mine these as much as possible. Also, keep an eye out for gold blocks. You'll want to mine a lot of these so you'll have the proper funds to forge items.
Finally, avoid enemies whenever you can. Spiders don't provide much of a threat unless you run into them, but mummies are far more menacing, as they'll chase you around. Stay out of their way, or use a bomb to get rid of them.
Your job is to collect three stars on each stage, which you can find in treasure chests and gems located at the end of the level. These usually contain a fellow dwarf to be freed, or an item that will come in handy during the next stage.
How do I upgrade equipment in Dwarven Den?
There are two ways to go about this. The first is to find extra equipment in a stage. You'll usually stumble across this in treasure chests hidden throughout the level. You'll have the option to equip these right away, which we recommend. The better your digging equipment, the more opportunity you have to mine health and tech - meaning the less gems you spend overall.
Second, you'll want to hit the Forge. Once you accumulate enough gold, you can put together two items and create a more effective one. For instance, if you forge two Hammers together you'll create a powerful pick, which is capable of generating energy for both your health and tech. With some of the bigger levels in the game, this always comes in handy.
What happens if I run out of health or tech in Dwarven Den?
Don't panic, you'll just need to spend 10 gems to refill it. You should have a few on hand when you start the game, but if push comes to shove, you can always buy more.
What does gear do for my character in Dwarven Den?
If you come across either armor or a new hat for your dwarf to wear, check out the effects. By wearing an item, you'll increase the chances of getting more tech and health, rather than just relying on your digging tool of choice. See what the gear does for you and try it out - even if it's not your favorite piece of headwear. You may look silly but, hey, you're banking the goods!
How do traps work in Dwarven Den?
Traps are available later on in the game, and you can use these along with your bombs and tools to trap enemies and earn some gold as a result. However, we advise you to be careful with these. Setting a bomb off in the wrong place could leave you surrounded by rock - thus costing you a life. Plan your traps accordingly.
Do I need to pay for anything in Dwarven Den?
Gold and gems are the most used currency in the game. You'll utilize gems to refill your energy for both gold and tech, while using gold to pay the Forgeman to make better tools for you.
There's a decent amount of it in the game, but if you want more, you can buy it for anywhere from $0.99 to $24.99, depending how many gold or gems you need.
In addition, the game offers a reward of gems if you log in with Facebook - and it's also handy to ask friends for lives should you run out. We didn't experience this problem during our playtime with Dwarven Den, but it never hurts to have extra.
