Maleficent Free Fall Cheats And Tips

The battle between good and evil, match-three style.

Following last year's successful free-to-play game Frozen Free Fall, Disney returned to the formula with Maleficent Free Fall, based on the forthcoming film starring Angelina Jolie. You'll play through stages as both young and modern versions of the evil queen, turning darkness to light as you brighten tiles on the board in match-three fashion. Along the way, you can use special tiles and occasional power-ups to help you along.

Don't fret pricking your finger. We have some tips that will help you turn the tide!

How do I play Maleficent Free Fall?

The game is similar to Frozen Free Fall, but with a twist. Rather than making a required amount of eliminations, your job is to light up the board by matching tiles in a Bejeweled fashion, or, on occasion, free caged pieces. With each eliminated piece, the tiles turn yellow. The round is over once you light up all the tiles required. If not, you lose a life.

The key is to match the tiles as quickly as possible, or free all the caged pieces. The reason for this is because leftover turns will transform into magic puzzle pieces that will eliminate columns or rows, which will add to your overall score. The more turns you end up with, the better you'll fare.

How do special tiles work in Maleficent Free Fall?

You'll earn special tiles by connecting together four or more similarly colored gems on the board. By doing this, one leftover piece will glow with a circle around it, either horizontally or vertically. Depending on when you connect it with other pieces, it will eliminate either a row or column - a useful tactic when you're trying to fill in dark tiles on the board.

These are pretty easy to put together, so keep practicing and trying to get four or more tiles together. It can be tricky in later levels, and require repeat turns to clear. Be patient, you can refill pretty easily.

How do power-ups work in Maleficent Free Fall?

As you proceed through the game, you'll receive magic spells that associate with the Maleficent character working with you. You can eliminate pieces simply by tapping them, either in small grouped clusters or by color across the entire board. When you're running low on moves and don't want to lose a life, spells will come in handy.

Once you're out of power-ups, you'll need to buy more, which we'll cover below.

Do I need to pay for anything in Maleficent Free Fall?

It's similar to Frozen Free Fall. If you run out of lives, you can either wait for them to refill or pay a one time $0.99 charge to automatically restock. As for the other purchases, they revolve around buying Magic power-ups, and vary from $0.99 to $49.99, depending how many you want.

Start low when it comes to buying power-ups. You won't need them as often as you will in later levels. At that point, if you feel like bulking up your purchase, proceed with a more premium choice. It's up to you, though. At the very least, if you don't want to pay for anything, you can gaze upon a virtually evil Angelina Jolie.
