Heli Hell Cheats And Tips

Get to the choppa with BulkyPix's shooter.

If you're a fan of "shmups" - the short term for top-down shoot-em-ups - chances are you'll enjoy BulkyPix's Heli Hell. This game is built like an old-school shooter, pitting your one helicopter against an armada of tanks, jets, boats and other enemy craft. As you proceed, you'll be able to upgrade your vehicle efficiently, lasting longer than you did the first time around.

This sort of shooter does lean into bullet hell territory, meaning it's quite a challenge. However, with our tips, you'll be able to weather the storm.

How do I play Heli Hell?

You guide your chopper around the screen, either by dragging your finger around or tapping on where you want your helicopter to go. Dragging is the best method, as you have more control over your vehicle that way.

The goal is to stay alive as long as you can, while collecting coins from defeated enemies. They'll fire at you on a consistent basis, so you'll want to make sure your craft isn't hit by said bullets. Take too many shots, and your chopper will go down for the count.

How do I upgrade my weaponry in Heli Hell?

Just stop by the shop. You'll be able to upgrade both missiles and guns up to three times with each vehicle you pick up, Missiles are more powerful, but fire slower than the routine bullets coming from your guns.

When it comes to making your first upgrade, we suggest going with the guns, as a faster firing rate is much better. If you have leftover funds, put some money into missiles for secondary firepower.

How do I upgrade my chopper in Heli Hell?

Simple - stop by the shop! You'll find newer vehicles available, although some of them have a hefty asking price, around 250,000 coins or so. In this case, upgrade your firepower first, and build up enough funds so that you can purchase these choppers.

Newer helicopters provide additional firepower, and can last longer in the field with better armor, at least better than your default helicopter. It never hurts to upgrade, but unless you're willing to pay, it could take a while.

Do you have any advice for flying in Heli Hell?

Bullet streams will come at you consistently, and it's better to avoid the incoming fire than it is to destroy enemies. Watch patterns and fly around them as quickly as you can, and on a secondary level, try to collect the coins. The game will be pretty easygoing at first with the enemies, but they'll soon pile on. The general idea is to stay alive and collect more coins in the process. Good luck!

Do I need to pay for anything in Heli Hell?

You can use in-game currency to purchase upgrades and new choppers, but if you want the better quality ones right away, you can pay for additional vehicles or cash directly, with purchases ranging from $0.99 to $9.99. See how well you do with picking up default coins first, then decide whether you want to take the plunge or not.
