Playman Power Games
Now you're playing with power. Playman power!
I would partake in Olympic events. Of course, I would. I could eat more slices of pizza than any given Brazilian competitor, and I know that no one can beat me at Office Chair Scooting, as I am the grand champion of rolling around my office and managing tight turns without hitting the water cooler or the boss. But, alas, the Olympics are not made up of these simple events, but rather more athletic activities, and playing off the recent feed of Olympic fever from last year is Mr. Goodliving's Playman Power Games.
This cell phone game features four events- cycling, climbing, shotput, and weight lifting. They all involve precise button hitting and power gauge building in an effort to win yourself the gold. The game can be played with multiple competitors with a simple pass of the phone, which makes it quite the party game.
The presentation's pretty basic, but it still conveys the thrill of these Olympics sports as it should. The gauges are easy to read, the animations are simple but cartoonishly fitting, and there's three different modes to play around with if you're up for it. The only problem is, the game doesn't have enough variance in events to really deliver beyond a few hours. No swimming, no hurdling, no nothing. Just these certain few...and it grows slightly stale.
Playman Power Games is worth checking out for the multiplayer capability and the gameplay, but it should've been more of a gold-winner than a recipient of the bronze.
What's Hot: Loads of fun for multiple players.
What's Not: Needed more damn events.
